The Goodwood Festival of Speed 22nd & 23rd June.

Always a display of excellent American vehicles to compliment the hundreds of classic, race and rally cars. This year was no exception.

This 1959 Plymouth Belvedere was in the Cartier Style Et Luxe display next to Goodwood House.

A 1958 Chevrolet Impala in the same display.

        1958 Lincoln 2 door hardtop.

In the Pits you could find this early Aston Martin which produced 11hp and an early competitor at Brooklands.....

to the Famous "Hurst Hemi under Glass" producing close to 1500bhp.

This was joined by Santa Pods Wheelie Corvette.

This was joined on the track by this "Petty" Camaro.

Also putting in an appearance was the one off Italian Giugiaro designed Mustang, and as you can see it wasn't just there to look pretty. The Mustang joined other cars, many worth hundreds of thousands £'s on the Goodwood Hill climb track.

Speaking of valuable cars, This 1927 Bugatti Royale one of only 6 in the world still retains the title of being the most valuable car ever sold at auction fetching £5.5 million in 1987. This was joined by 4 other examples from various collections / museums around the world. The owner of the only other survivor refused all offers to have the car on display, so this remained in Las Vegas.

80 years on and the old Bugattis are joined by their modern and by comparison cheaper name sake the Veyron which also tried the track out for size.

Another nice display was the recreation of the Famous Bonneville Salt flats and many examples of the cars that have competed there.
